Rivets (Loû Rivée, 1550 m). Situata fra Souchere Haute e Granges, vi
sono due importanti musei : il Museo del Costume - con cimeli della vita dei
paesi montani di un tempo - e la Casa degli Escartons - che racconta oltre 300
anni di storia locale -, ospitata in una bellissima abitazione del 1800 e visita-
bile su prenotazione.
Rivets è anche sede del laboratorio dello scomparso scultore Guido Ronchail,
costruttore di ghironde. (Si raggiunge in macchina, volendo a piedi).
Located between Souchere Haute and Granges, there are two important museums: the Costume Mu-
seum - with relics of the life of the mountain villages of the past - and the Escartons House - which
illustrates over 300 years of local history -, housed in a beautiful 19th-century home; it can be visited
on reservation.
Rivets is also home to the laboratory of the late sculptor Guido Ronchail, a hurdy-gurdy maker.

Situé entre Souchère Haute et Granges, Rivets abrite deux musées importants : le Musée du Costu-
me - avec des objets de la vie en montagne autrefois - et la Maison des Escartons - qui raconte plus
de 300 ans d’histoire locale et qui se trouve dans une superbe maison datant du XIXe que l’on peut
visiter sur réservation. C’est aussi à Rivets que se trouve l’atelier du célèbre sculpteur Guido Roncail,
fabricant de vielles. (Accessible en voiture voire même à pied)

Granges (Lâ Grôndza, 1561 m). È l’ultima frazione a monte del centro
di Pragelato ed è una delle più popolate; ospita la più antica fontana in pietra,
datata 1614: vi sono incisi il Delfino degli Escartons e il Giglio di Francia.
(Si raggiunge in macchina, volendo a piedi).

It is the last hamlet uphill from the center of Pragelato and it is one of the most populated; it has the
oldest stone fountain, dated 1614: the Dolphin of the Escartons and the Lily of France are engraved
on it. (This hamlet can be reached by car, on foot if you want).

Dernière bourgade en amont du centre de Pragelato, c’est également la plus peuplée ; on peut y voir
la plus ancienne fontaine en pierre, datant de 1614 où sont gravés le Dauphin des Escartons et le Lys
de France. (Accessible en voiture voire même à pied)
Rif (‘l Rìou, 1820 m). Borgata distrutta e disabitata, a mezz’ora di cammino
da Soucheres Hautes lungo un sentiero molto ben tenuto: si possono vedere i
resti di un forno e una meridiana del 1877 con quadrante a rilievo, il cui motto
recita “En regardant l’heure qu’il est, pensez à la mort et tenez vous pret” ovve-
ro “Guardando che ora è, pensate alla morte e tenetevi pronti”. (Si raggiunge
in macchina fino a un certo punto, poi si procede a piedi).

A hamlet that was destroyed and is now uninhabited, half an hour’s walk from Soucheres Hautes
along a very well-kept path: you can see the remains of an oven and a sundial dated 1877 with a
raised dial, whose motto reads “En regardant l’heure qu ‘il est, pensez à la mort et tenez vous pret”,
that is “Looking at the time, think about death and be ready”. (This hamlet can be reached by car,
on foot if you want).
Cette bourgade détruite et abandonnée se trouve à une demi-heure de marche de Souchères Hautes
en empruntant un sentier très bien entretenu : on peut y voir les restes d’un four et une méridienne
de 1877 avec le cadran en relief et la devise « En regardant l’heure qu’il est, pensez à la mort et tenez
vous prêt ». (Accessible en voiture jusqu’à un certain point puis à pied).
Grand Puy (‘l Péou, 1831 m). Raggiungibile tutto l’anno, è quasi com-
pletamente ristrutturata: vi sorge la chiesa vicariale di San Giovanni Battista,
voluta da Carlo Emanuele III nel 1739, nella quale è possibile ammirare sopra
